The Southern Open was played at Kingston on 15 May. Aidan Cutlan won the Mens Singles from Doug McLean. McLean had beaten John Lee (3) and in a surprise result, Eddie Kasser (1) to make the final. Former Tasmanian player, now playing at Dandenong in Victoria, Daniel Delbourgo participated in the event. He was elimated by No 2 seed, Andrew Castaldi. Delbourgo combined with Matthew Tadd to make the final of the Mens Doubles were they lost a close match to the formidable Castaldi / Leeds combination. Australian Commonwealth Games Knockout Tournament Sue Stevenson, TTA High Performance Coaching Co-ordinator advises: "Please note that a decision has been made to conduct a public draw for the Australian Commonwealth Games Knockout Tournament. The draw will take place at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre in the Table Tennis Venue from 12.15 – 12.30 pm on Thursday 22 July, 2010. Aidan Cutlan won his second tournament this year when he narrowly defeated Andrew Castaldi in the final 4 - 3. Maddy Goodsell defeated Lydia Massie in the Womens final. Read about it on the ITTF site here. As with the Eastside Open in February, the Mens Singles at this event was won by Eddie Kasser. This time Eddie defeated Tim Smith in the final, 4 - 3.
2010 State League, Country Club Casino, Launceston Held on the 12 & 13 June this event was eagerly contested with Northern Suburbs just snatching victory from Southern Tas. Tim Smith won the 'Open' individual trophy, Doug McLean the Over 50 and James Katarzynski the Under 21. Well organised with TV and newspaper coverage.
The Northern Open was won by Eddie Kasser.
